2008 Dubai Drink Technology Expo

Dubai will host from 14 to 16 December 2008 Dubai Drink Technology Expo at Dubai Convention and Exhibition Centre.

This significant and unique event presents worldwide range of products and services in the area of beverages technology.

The event targets the promotion of the latest drink processing and packaging systems.

It offers the state-of-the-art technology, logistics solutions for beverages and liquid food processing industry.

Mr. Abdul Salam Al Madani, President INDEX Holding made the announcement at a press conference.

Mr. Al Madani added, Dubai Drink Technology 2008 would display the latest applied technologies, machinery, equipment, materials, and services. Brand owners, retailers, beverage service operators, manufacturers and processors will have the opportunity to network and contract.

Giving the progressive trends in Drinks sector Mr. Al Madani stated that ‘the Middle East and North Africa beverages drinks market is witnessing noticeable expansion associated with the elevation in the standard of living and with healthy drinks increasing demand. Growth in Juices demand is projected by industry sources to increase by 12 percent annually while energy drinks by 13 percent.

Philippine furniture makers set sights on Middle East market

Brazilian furniture company forms partnership with distributor in Algeria

The company Ferrarte, from Rio Grande do Sul, in Brazil, is participating at the Algiers International Fair. This is the first time that the company exhibits in a trade show abroad. The company, which still doesn’t export to the Arab market, believes it will start with the North African market.

São Paulo – The company Ferrarte, furniture manufacturer from the southernmost Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul, formed its first partnership with a distributor in Algeria. The deal was carried out during the Algiers International Fair, which started on the 1st of June and carries on until Wednesday (08), at the capital city of the Arab country. “We are getting very positive returns from the fair,” stated Diana Dalla Costa, coordinator of International department at Ferrarte.

This is the first time that the company participates as an exhibitor in an international fair. “We still don’t export to the Arab market. We’ll start with Algeria,” said Diana, which to this point has made more than 20 contacts with Arab importers. Furniture company closes deal at Algiers International Fair

At its first participation in Algiers International Fair, in the capital of Algeria, furniture producer Rimo, from the southeastern Brazilian state of Espírito Santo, closed a US$ 35,000 contract with an importer from the Arab country. “This is going to be the first time we export to Algeria,” stated the company export manager, Gustavo Correard. The fair, which was opened to the public on Friday (02), ends on Thursday (08) and includes 15 Brazilian companies.

Rimo is going to export one container with 70 sets of beds, bedside tables, dressers and wardrobes. The shipment should be made in 30 days after the payment. According to Correard, the company had already made contact with some Algerian businessmen during business roundtables in São Paulo a year and a half ago. “At the fair we have the opportunity of exhibiting our products, which simplifies sales,” he said.

According to Correard, Rimo already exports to other Arab countries in the Middle East, like the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon and Oman. “We recently started working with the North African market,” he added. Rimo produces 20,000 items a month and exports between 12% and 15%. Apart from the Arab countries, the products are also shipped to Central America, South America and the United States. UAE-based manufacturer increases productivity by 30 per cent

Dubai Furniture Manufacturing Co., (DFMC), the licenced manufacturer and retailer of King Koil and Serta mattresses in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), has invested more than AED20 million in a new manufacturing facility, increasing its overall productivity by 30 per cent.

Part of UAE-based A.A. Al Moosa Enterprises, DFMC’s new plant was inaugurated recently and is located in Dubai’s manufacturing hub, Dubai Investment Park. The facility is now fully operational and employs 200 skilled staff and produces more than 1,000 mattresses a day. Read more »
