How can I remove scratches/dings from home furniture?

January 6th, 2010

Home Furniture My cat has left a number of scratches on several pieces of our furniture including the wooden dinning room table. Is there anything available that could remove or at least hide the scratch marks?

How do I stop my cat from clawing the leather furniture?

May 24th, 2009

leather furniture eldelany asked:

I’ve taken in a feral kitten, about 9 months old (born outside, we caught and neutered him). He is still very paranoid, will not come when I call him and runs if I approach him. He does let me pat him if he’s under something. Eventually he will be a house kitty!

He has just discovered my leather couch! We put aluminum foil over the parts he has scratched and he just finds another spot on it. Since I can’t cover the entire couch, love seat, chair and ottoman in foil, what can I do? I’ve seen suggestions for the Soft Paws, but there is no way I could get them on him, since he is not anywhere near being ready to be held. We do have other scratching posts in the vicinity. The couch is not brand new, so I don’t think it’s the scent that is attracting him.

Please help! Thanks a bunch in advance!

Any experience with cats and leather furniture?

May 23rd, 2009

leather furniture kmm100 asked:

I have a cat whose front paws are declawed. My husband and I want to get a leather sofa because so the cat hair won’t get stuck but I am worried about the cat jumping on and off the couch and his back claws accidentically tearing the leather. Did anyone have this happen to them or is it OK as long as the front paws are declawed. I plan on trimming them regularly but I still am worried…

Does anyone have a trick for getting the smell of cat urine out of leather furniture?

May 22nd, 2009

leather furniture Tiger asked:

A few months ago my male cat ******** on a leather sofa. Fortunately the sofa is black so visible staining is NOT the issue but the smell is! If anyone has any suggestions/ tips/tricks for getting the SMELL out of the leather that would be wonderful – I am willing to try anything!

Also, does anyone have any experience with a “cleaning company” (the one’s that will come to your house and clean your furniture)? Would you recommend calling? I have no experience with companies like this so if you have a personal experience/testimonial to share that would be WONDERFUL!!!

THANKS!!!!

How can I stop my cat from scratching up my leather furniture?

May 22nd, 2009

leather furniture Thumbs Up asked:

She has a scratching post but somehow prefers my furniture. She is an 18 month old cat we got from the sanctuary just over 2 weeks ago.
My leather stools for my dining table has a load of holes because of the cat.
And no I will not hurt her for doing it – just what cats are like. But I don’t want shredded furniture either.

My cat likes my leather furniture better than her scratching post?

May 20th, 2009

leather furniture Thumbs Up asked:

How can I teach her not to shred up my furniture?
Water spray, my wife does that but it is catching her at it. too.
Maybe Austin it would be better to stick your photo on the furniture that would keep her away.
