Linwood Furniture unveil new furniture at spring market

Just two years after its founding as a domestic manufacturer for Lexington Home Brands’ The World of Bob Timberlake collection, Linwood Furniture initiated a fourth line of its own.

Turento, named for a village in northern Italy and featuring Italian, French, Spanish and Portuguese design elements, is an eight-piece bedroom group crafted from cherry veneer and maple solids with a rich burgundy, handworn finish.

A major piece is the Media Center with glass doors and shelves, scrolled pewter hardware and drawer storage units on the ends for DVDs. The console was one of five new media centers Linwood introduced in three lines at this market. The company added a total of 29 pieces to fill out its previously introduced American Classics, Villages of Gulf Breeze and Hart Square collections.

Linwood also offered sneak peaks at prototypes for a Louis Philippe-style solid cherry line designed by Steve Hodges Associates in Lexington that’s expected to be available this summer. Bob Shaak, chief executive officer, said a new licensed Richard Childress line, named for the Davidson County NASCAR team and winery owner, is scheduled for release in October, the economy permitting.
