H and L Office Furniture on purchasing office whiteboards
July 5th, 2007 Category Furniture, Office FurnitureAccording to H and L Office Furniture, the whiteboard are not just for large corporate offices anymore. They have found a new home, in home offices.
Once upon a time the office whiteboard was only something you would see in a large business setting, a way to keep track of projects and coming deadlines.
Then they moved to the classroom as a cleaner and dust-free replacement for the chalkboard.
Now home offices have discovered the usefulness of these pieces of office furniture.
A home office whiteboard is a great organisational tool.
How many times have you been in the house, on a business call, when you needed to jot a note down.
If the notepad was not handy, you may have jotted it on any old piece of paper. At least once that paper likely disappeared or was inadvertently thrown away, with that phone number or important thought on it.
If there had been a whiteboard that would not have happened.
A note can be jotted down on the corner of the whiteboard, and when you need it, it will be there. Likewise, when you are done with the information, it can be wiped away, with white space once again available and waiting for another piece of information to be jotted down.
Those pieces of paper with important notes of things to get done also can get buried under other papers on your desk, and by the time you find them it may be too late.
With a whiteboard, the note is always in front of you as a reminder of what you need to get done, until you decide to get rid of it.
The set up of a whiteboard is relatively cheap. You can go to your favourite office furniture store and ask them to show you their selection of whiteboards. They come in a number of shapes and sizes.
Pick a size that suits your office environment. Next you will need to purchase the accessories. These can include set of whiteboard markers, a bottle of cleaner, and an eraser.
Once you put your whiteboard up on the wall, in much the way you would hang a picture or a painting, it is ready to go.
One tip to make sure it is always ready at a moments notice is to make sure you put one of the markers on a string that is attached to the board. That way, you will always have a marker nearby when you need to write a note.
When it comes to organising your information on a whiteboard, you may want to make a ‘note’ area and a project area. Simply drawing a line down the board does this. Keep one side organised for your projects or goals, and the other side can be your area to jot thoughts, notes, numbers and other pieces of information that come to you throughout the day
Having a whiteboard up in your office not only makes it easier to keep thoughts and ideas organised, but it also gives your home office a clutter-free more professional appearance.
