Palliser Furniture to transfer manufacturing from Alberta plant to Winnipeg

Palliser Furniture announced today the closing of its Airdrie, Alberta plant and the transfer of Canadian manufacturing to its Winnipeg factory.
The 142,000-square ft. Alberta facility employees 135 furniture manufacturers and upholsterers who will all be phased out by November.
A release issued by the furniture magnate cites an inability to recruit and retain skilled workers and a rise in Mexican production as the reasons for the closing.
